Bar Harbor Oyster Company
Established in 2014, Bar Harbor Oyster Company has been hand-farming their Bar Harbor Blonde oysters sustainably on their 22-acre lease in the Mt. Desert Narrows. The merroir of Maine’s pristine waters distinguishes their boutique oysters from the rest. The strong shells make an exceptionally easy shuck and the deep cup holds a perfectly delectable, briny meat.
Volta Climbing Gym
Volta is an indoor climbing gym and fitness center. Nurturing community is at the heart of Volta. The climbing aspect of their gym is a passion-inspired means to bring people together in a healthy, supportive, and playful way. In addition, Volta offers dynamic fitness options, group experiences, teams, and more, to encourage you to learn new skills and make new connections.
Bar Harbor Pride
Bar Harbor Pride is a grassroots project that supports the visibility, livelihood, and resiliency of the LGBTQ2IA+ community of Mount Desert Island and the surrounding areas. They operate through the power of people committed to education, celebration, and uplifting those who need it; they believe in joyful visibility and bright futures for everyone.
Sand Beach Surf Company
Sand Beach Surf Company and Acadia SUP are the Northeastern most surf shops in the United States. Their branded apparel is the perfect gift or souvenir for that special paddler or surfer. They offer a wide selection of swimwear, active wear, boutique, and lifestyle apparel. They are a fully stocked paddle and surf shop with replacement parts for your paddle board, surf wax, wetsuits, and other paddling gear.
Open Table MDI
The mission of Open Table MDI is to inspire strong, loving, and inclusive communities by bringing people together to share in nourishing food. Their organization helps to alleviate hunger by feeding individuals and families on Mount Desert Island and beyond. Their vision is a vibrant, welcoming, and compassionate community, where all members have access to healthy food and authentic connection.
Mariah Reading Art
Mariah Reading is an eco-artist who was born and raised in Bangor, Maine where the surrounding landscape gave her a deep appreciation of nature’s beauty that was reinforced by her degree in Visual Arts at Bowdoin College. Throughout her travels, she creates impressionist paintings on trash in order to depict the harms of pollution and climate change. “My practice revolves around ways I can leave the Earth better than I found it.”
